What is
Moondrops Yoga?
Many of us spend much of our time taking
care of other people, but do not devote much time caring for
ourselves. To be the best we can be for others (and for
ourselves!) we all need to take a little more time for
ourselves. A rested and rejuvenated self is better prepared
to face the challenges that life brings us each and every
day.
Moondrops Yoga is here to help you slow
down, work out some of the stress and the kinks, and take
time to breathe, laugh and enjoy life.
No matter where you live, no matter your
level of yoga experience, Moondrops Yoga can support you in
your pursuit of health, peace and well-being.
Moondrops Yoga gives you the tools to help
you balance your body, and give your body a break from all
the things you ask your body to do each day. Moondrops Yoga
provides a heart-centered, breath-oriented approach to meet
you right where you are, to safely explore your boundaries,
push yourself a little bit, and most importantly take the
time you need to relax and re-center yourself.
How can
Moondrops
Yoga help me?
From this website, to private, group or online (yes online!)
interactive yoga classes, our professional yoga DVD and
other online resources, Moondrops Yoga is here for EVERY
body.
-
I teach all levels of students
who show up for class.
-
My class is about my students
and not about me.
-
My role as your instructor is
to make sure it's a class that works for you - for
every body.
-
Yoga has nothing to do with how
flexible, strong or knowledgeable you are or aren't.
-
Yoga
is a practice which supports, expands and grow you, from right where you are.

TESTIMONIALS |

"Yoga with Sherry is a delightful experience. She gives
precise instructions and takes the time to assist each
individual as needed, giving modifications to work with each
body. I have gained confidence, energy, strength and
flexibility." Margaret

"At 65 I found my flexibility and range of movement very limited.
Thanks to Sherry with her gentle yoga classes, I have seen
significant improvement in just a few short weeks!"
Lee
"Sherry takes the time to explain the
benefit of each pose and how to do it correctly. She really pays attention to
each student's progress and provides modifications for poses
based on individual abilities.
She is able to offer modifications to newer
or less flexible students while keeping things going at a nice
pace for more advanced students. I think everyone leaves class
feeling a sense of accomplishment.
She has a great sense of humor so her classes
are always fun and I think this encourages a sense of
camaraderie between the regular students which makes the time
together even more enjoyable."
Jackie

"I have been taking yoga classes from Sherry for about 6
months. In that time I have experienced mobility and range
of motion that I feel is exceptional for a 70 year old man,
including a head stand. Sherry's teaching method is to
encourage self confidence in the practice of yoga, yet work
within the space allowed by an individuals body. She has a
good sense of humor that allows her to occasionally laugh at
herself. She makes yoga fun."

"Sherry
is so down to earth,
humorous,
and reaches out and relates to us all. I really appreciate the
alternatives to some yoga moves. Many of us with high
mileage have
injuries old and new to nurse. I also love the way you stress
this is not a
competitive sport. We each can attain benefits by working to our
'healthy
edge', it's all very individual.
Thanks Sherry for leading us to healthier lives!" Carol
"I had always viewed yoga classes as twisted contortions that
would be impossible to do. Being in the middle age," pleasantly
plump" category, and unable to have mastered even being able to
sit in a lotus position, I am so pleased with the "gentle" yoga
classes. The stretching has relieved the pains in my hips and
allowed me much more flexibility. The real benefit for me has
been the overall sense of relaxation." Judy

"Sherry's class offers an opportunity for those of us healing
from injuries or the aches and pains, that seem to be part of
getting older, to gain strength and flexibility though yoga. She
creates a healing atmosphere, speaks clearly, and demonstrates
the poses.
Sherry is very observant of "real people" limitations of men
and women in our class. Some of us are already 70 or close to
this milestone; others are much younger.
Modifications that she offers help us to be successful. I hear
many speak of how good they feel after class.
I've noticed that her heart
centered lightness is contagious." Diane
"It is your apparent life wisdom and your amazing ability to
share this knowledge that makes you such a great teacher. I felt
a strong connection or simpatico at my very first class. I truly
mean it when I say this experience has changed my life. And, I
am one who has had alot of extraordinary life experiences so I
am pretty tuned to people with whom I resonate. I deeply
appreciate your guidance leading to that precious moment of
surrender and heart opening. Thank you" – Jan
"I have taken yoga with Sherry ever since she began teaching
several years ago. Apart from the enjoyment I get from her
classes, I always come away with something new that I've learnt
about yoga. She will actually walk around and assist anyone who
may need help with their pose rather than just remain in the
front of the class. I am also impressed not only with how
knowledgeable she is, but the fact that she continually studies
yoga and brings new ideas to her students. Sherry is one of the
most qualified teachers that I know." Jane
